3D CAD Designer

We are very happy to offer yet another fantastic opportunity for a 3D CAD Designer to join a leader in retail POS based in West Yorkshire.

The 3D CAD Designer will take and understand 3D design briefs from sales teams or clients and have responsibility for creating innovative and value engineered specifications. Reporting to the Sale Manager you will take responsibility for the installation of the CAD system, maintaining the 3D studio and taking an active role in quality control within relevant operating procedures.

Duties

1. To co-ordinate the implementation of the AG CAD system, setting up digital communication links with all relevant departments and suppliers.
2. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the CAD software and any future upgrades or additional packages relevant to the role.
3. To provide accurate specification information to enable the smooth processing of enquiries between sales, estimating and production.
4. To produce accurate prototypes, where possible using the CAD system, to meet the requirements of clients and production.
5. To take an active role in the Technical Review of 3D production orders.
6. To provide accurate cutter guides to enable the production of digital artwork and cutting forme production.
7. Provide colour visuals and miniatures using the CAD software as required.
8. Produce Assembly Instructions which are comprehensive and easily understood.
9. To create and maintain a digital library of proven 3D specifications in both digital and hard copy form.
10. To act as a technical liaison between departments as necessary.
11. To liase with all departments with regard to the use of pre-press software and hardware and materials as required.
12. To Provide production with a 3D sample for Quality Control for all new designs
13. To establish and maintain the Design Studio as an extension to the sales office environment. Maintain material and consumable stocks as necessary.
